Illinois Valley Striders Steamboat Classic 5k & 15k Race

The 15k is one of Illinois toughest courses just as advertised. The runners go to Glen Oak Park where the 4-mile runners head back to the finish line while the 15k runners run up the first and biggest hill. The course loops through the park twice with a mixture of big and small hills, the kind that curve around a corner so you cannot see the top.
This course is also one of the most scenic around. Glen Oak Park is certainly one of Peoria’s treasures.
